Manzanillo es una ciudad del oriente cubano, en la actual provincia de Granma, está situada a los 20º03'y 20º26' de latitud norte y entre los 77º14' y 77º07' longitud oeste. Tiene una extensión superficial de 498,4 km². Es uno de los trece municipios que componen la provincia y el de mayor importancia a nivel industrial.

El pueblo data de 1840. Aquí nacieron: Carlos Puebla, músico cubano (1917–1989), Legna Verdecia, judoca cubana (n. 1972) y Arlenis Sierra, ciclista de ruta cubana (n. 1992). Aquí murieron: José Manuel Poveda (1888–1926).
